Barrie Police responded to the Barrie Courthouse in regards to a 72 yr old male with vital signs absent. The officers arrived on scene and were advised that the elderly gentleman was in the family court processing area when he fell to the ground. One of the family court clerks ran into the Police office across the hall and request to use the automated external defibrillator . The clerk returned to the family court office along with officers and administered a shock to the elderly male. The gentleman responded by speaking with the clerk. The male was checked over by ems staff and transported to the hospital for further examination.
