Maurice LEYDIER – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) On Friday November 7, 2014 just after 7:00 p.m., members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised there had been a collision on Highway 17 east in the City of Kenora between two vehicles and one vehicle had left the scene. Police located the vehicle and driver that had left the scene and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. He was arrested and transported for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, 53 year old Maurice LEYDIER of Kenora has been charged with Impaired Driving contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)CC. He has also been charged with Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision contrary to section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.

He is to appear in Kenora Court on December 4, 2014 to answer to the charges.
