R.I.D.E Arrest

During the early morning hours of Sunday September 16th, 2012, the Guelph Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E initiative in the downtown area of the city in conjunction with Project Safe Semester.

A motor vehicle approached the R.I.D.E lanes and appeared to avoid them by quickly turning down a side street. The vehicle was stopped and as the officer walked to the side of the vehicle a strong odour of freshly, burned marihuana could be detected.

Police arrested the driver and seized a large glass bong” and a small amount of marihuana.

Matthew MCANANY 18 years of Guelph was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-marihuana. He will appear in court in October.”
