(MARKSTAY, ON.) – On March 11, 2015 the Noelville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, initiated an investigation involving benefits obtained fraudulently from the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board. The fraud occurred between the years of 2011 and 2015 relating to claims made under the Ontario Works Program.
Matthew LEROUX a 41 year old male from Markstay, has been charged with three counts of Uttering Forged Documents contrary to section 368(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada and one count of Fraud over $5,000 contrary to section 380(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on July 29, 2015.
