(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Sunday, August 23, 2015 at approximately 9:49 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted in regards to a possible impaired driver after the driver, who had ditched his pick-up truck on the 8th Concession of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, left the scene after getting towed out by another vehicle.
Grey County OPP caught up to the suspect vehicle, a 2001 Ford F150 pick-up truck, on Road 55 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.
Matthew James McKAIG, age 27, of Collingwood, Ontario was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 milligrams.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, September 10, 2015.
Road safety is everyone’s concern. Grey County OPP urge citizens to call police if they suspect someone’s ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired by drug or alcohol.
