Matthew CROUCHER – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON)— The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore received two separate calls from motorists with regards to an erratic driver on Highway 401 travelling westbound through Lakeshore.

The calls came in on November 29, 2015 at approximately 7:20 a.m. Officers converged on the area and located the red Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) on Highway 401 just west of Essex County Road 27 which was weaving in and out of its lane.

Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and issued a Roadside Screening Device Demand which the driver registered a “fail”.

He was arrested at the scene.

Matthew CROUCHER, age 33 of Waterloo, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Windsor court on December 15, 2015 to answer to the charges.

The OPP would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Essex County for their ongoing efforts to assist police agencies in stopping drunk drivers. Police rely on the public to alert officers of suspected impaired drivers now, during the holiday season, and throughout the year.
