Mateo CANO – Drunk Driving, Drive While Disqualified

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 18, 2015, just before midnight, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers attended at a BMW SUV which was parked on the shoulder of the westbound off ramp of Highway 401 at Orford Road.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver appeared to be sleeping. Officers spoke with the driver and determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver, 42 year old Mateo CANO, from Leamington, was over the legal limit. Further investigation also revealed that he was driving while disqualified.

He will appear in a Chatham Court on January 30, 2015, to answer to the following charges:

Care or Control While Impaired

Care or Control Over 80 mgs

Driving While Disqualified
