Lake Superior – Pancake Bay Area
(Herrick Township, ON) – At approximately 8:40 pm yesterday evening Sault Ste. Marie OPP were notified of an overdue boater on Lake Superior, Pancake Bay area.
A fifty-five year old male left a residence on Pancake Shores Drive yesterday morning at approximately 10 am in an 8 foot aluminum rowboat in the waters of Lake Superior.
The boater was last observed in the boat on the water at 3:00 pm.
A search is being co-ordinated by JRCC Trenton (Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre) and includes the following agencies: Canadian Coast Guard, Auxiliary Coast Guard, US Coast Guard, Sault Search and Rescue, RCMP, Batchewana Police Service, and the Ontario Provincial Police.
The search is ongoing.
