(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a small quantity of marijuana being seized and the driver being charged.
On March 27, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Highway 7 near Opmar Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. As a result of the investigation the driver now faces two charges.
Luigi CANONICO, 38 years of age, of Lindsay, was charged with possession of marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and with failing to drive in marked lane, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on April 24, 2014.
