The London Police Service charged one adult and one young offender after seizing two prohibited weapons, ammunition, and over $120,000 worth of drugs.
On Thursday, October 3, 2013, members of the London Police Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence on Hewitt Street.
Seized were the following items:
– 121 marihuana plants – $121,000
– 23 grams of marihuana bud – $230
– 1 hydromorphone pill – $20
– 1 butterfly knife
– 1 conducted energy weapon (taser)
– 386 rounds of various ammunition
– $130 Canadian currency
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old man was arrested without incident. He and a male young offender are being charged with the following offences:
– Two counts of possession of prohibited weapon, knowing its possession is unauthorized, contrary to section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
– Unlawfully possess Schedule I substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
– Possess Schedule II substance for trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
– Unlawfully produce Schedule II substance, contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The young offender was not located, therefore a warrant has been prepared for his arrest.
