(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 13, 2015 at approximately 12:12 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a 2008 Cadillac well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
18-year-old Maria JOHNSON of Kingston has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 2, 2015.
