(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On April 2, 2016, at approximately 4:41 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a possible impaired driver westbound on Cromarty Drive.
A vehicle stop of the silver Hyundai sport utility vehicle (SUV) was conducted, and officers determined the 35-year-old female driver had been drinking alcohol.
A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail”. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Alexandra MARCOUX, from Montreal, Quebec, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on May 18, 2016.
