(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) Members of the Southern Georgian Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit along with Midland Police Service have laid 62 criminal charges against a female from the Town of Penetanguishene, ON. The charges stem from multiple occurrences that took place from May and October 2015.
During these occurrences, residences and vehicles were broken into in Penetanguishene and Midland Ontario. Some of the items stolen include jewelry, cash, identification, electronics, and other personal items.
Marcie HUNNEF (age 36) of the Town of Penetangushene has been charged with:
– Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 14 counts
– Theft Over $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 1 count
– Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 8 counts
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 19 counts
– Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 20 counts
The accused has been held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, Ontario on October 9, 2015
Police are still looking for the rightful owners of property that has been recovered from these occurrences. Attached is a photograph of the property that has been recovered so far.

OPP SEEKING PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING STOLEN PROPERTY
(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating several incidents of Break and enter as well as theft from vehicles in the town of Penetanguishene and Midland between May and October, 2015. During these incidents several items of property were stolen.
Police are asking anyone who attended a garage sale on Church Street in Penetanguishene on the weekend of October 3rd and 4th, 2015 to contact police if they purchased any items. During the course of the investigation it was learned that there may have been property from these incidents sold at the garage sale.
A suspect in these break and enters has been identified and the Southern Georgian Bay Street Crime are currently investigating. Several items of property have been recovered and police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the rightful owners.
