(Chatham-Kent, ON) On the 1st of October, 2013 at 11:38 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on the 401 Highway westbound off ramp at Bloomfield Road.
The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck was stopped at the program and police determined that he had been drinking alcohol. A roadside alcohol test was administered which the driver failed. Further alcohol test at the Chatham-Kent OPP Detachment revealed that he was over the legal limit.
Marc SYLVESTRE, a 47 year old Tecumseh, Ontario man has been charged with Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code.
OPP are reminding drivers that R.I.D.E. stops are carried out throughout the year, throughout the province as part of the OPP’s Provincial Traffic Safety Program (PTSP).
