On July 16, 2016 at 7:23pm, two witnesses observed a man on a bus at the GRT bus terminal located at 15 Charles Street West in Kitchener with what appeared to be a handgun in the waistband of his pants. Witnesses advised that the male had exited the bus, and was last seen walking towards the area of Victoria Park where Ribfest was currently taking place. Minutes later the male was located by Paid Duty officers by the clock tower in Victoria Park. The male was identified and was arrested without incident. A black handgun style airsoft gun was recovered. The man is facing numerous breaches and weapons charges and was held at Central Division for a bail hearing.
