(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call just after 12:00pm on Friday November 6, 2015 that a male suspect had been observed with a possible firearm within the vicinity of Beaver Brae High school. As a precaution, Beaver Brae Highschool, Pope John Paul II School, Ecole Ste. Marguerite Bourgeoys and St. Thomas Aquinas High School was placed on immediate lockdown.
The male is described as 5’4, in his teens wearing a brown hoody and camouflage back pack.
Members of the Kenora OPP along with Kenora Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team are currently at the scene and surrounding area searching for the male.

The lockdowns have been lifted at all schools. Police located the suspect and suspect firearm. The firearm was determined to be a pistol type pellet gun. The investigation is continuing.
