Man Threatend With Hatchet – Michael Benninger Faces Multiple Charges – Methamphetamine, Assault, Utter Threats etc.

On 28 September Wingham Police were called to Victoria Street where it was alleged that a man was present and threatened another man with a hatchet. Police attended the area and located Michael Benninger, a 25 year old Wingham man. Benninger was arrested and the hatchet, along with a knife, a small quantity of methamphetamines and marijuana were located on his person.

Benninger is charged with assault with a weapon, utter threat to cause death, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carry a concealed weapon, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
