(MALAHIDE, ON) – On the 27th of January 2017 at around 4:10p.m. the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for a 51 year old Central Elgin male stuck in a corn silo on Ron McNeil Line in Malahide Township.
Malahide Volunteer firefighters attended the scene and were able to remove the male before any serious injury happened. The St. Thomas Elgin paramedics transported the male to hospital as a precaution.
During the investigation it was learned that the male was in the process of moving corn from one silo to another. The Elgin County OPP would like to remind anyone working in enclosed spaces to follow proper safety protocol.
