(CENTRAL FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP) – On June 3rd, 2015 at approximately 2:50 pm, an OPP officer observed a male driving a brown Chevy Malibu on Brewer Road in Central Frontenac Township without wearing a seat belt. The officer stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The male was placed under arrest, and transported to the Frontenac Detachment for breath testing.
As a result of this investigation, Gregory Lawrence THOMPSON, age 41, from Central Frontenac Township, has been charged with driving while ability impaired-motor vehicle and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
On June 5th, 2015 at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the OPP Snowmobile, ATV, and Vessel Enforcement (SAVE) unit were conducting RIDE checks on Fifth Lake Road in Central Frontenac Township. A male driving a black Chevy ITZ at the check had open liquor in the vehicle and failed the road side alcohol screening test.
As a result of this investigation, it was determined that the driver was the same Gregory Lawrence THOMSPON that was charged with impaired on June 3rd, 2015.
Mr. THOMSPON was charged again with driving while ability impaired-motor vehicle and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, along with Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Central Frontenac court on July 2nd, 2015 to answer for all charges.
