(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On October 20, 2015 at approximately 6:20 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 1999 Honda parked on the shoulder of Stewart Drive near the Second Line in the Town of Erin. The vehicle was running with the headlights on and the driver was slumped over in the driver’s seat.
Officers located the vehicle that was no longer running with the keys in the ignition. The driver was slumped over in the front seat and a partially filled bottle of alcohol and beer cans were observed on the front seat and floor area of the vehicle. Police woke up the male driver who exhibited obvious signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local Operation Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
59-year-old Paul KOLLMAN of the Town of Erin has been charged with Care or Control Impaired and Care or Control Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 24, 2015 to answer to the charges.
