(Champlain, ON) Hawkesbury OPP officers were dispatched to the scene on an assault at a County Road 17 residential apartment complex in L’Orignal on August 22nd 2013 at approximately 2 pm.
Police received a complaint that a man had tried to hit a man with his vehicle and then left the scene. No one was injured during the incident.
The investigation revealed that there was an argument between the driver of the vehicle and the victim outside the victim’s apartment. At one point, police believe that the driver got into his car, which had 2 other passengers, where he drove towards the victim with his car just missing him and hitting the outside wall of the apartment causing major structural damages. The driver then left the scene. No one was injured.
The driver, Luc CARRIÈRE (46 yrs), who lived nearby, was arrested at his residence in L’Orignal.
He was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Section 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle
– Section 264.1(1)(a) Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Section 430(3)(a) Mischief Over $5,000
– Section 267(a) Assault with A Weapon
He was released at bail court on August 23rd and scheduled to reappear at court on September 11th 2013.
