The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic disturbance.
Yesterday, the man attended his parent’s residence in Raleigh Township and drove their ATV across fields to where his dad was harvesting. The man then stole his dad’s pick-up truck that was parked in the field with the keys in the ignition. The man drove the truck into Chatham looking for his wife as they had been involved in an argument and she left the house. Shortly after 6:00 p.m. officers located the man driving the stolen truck and he was arrested.
Through investigation, officers further learned that the man had threatened to burn the woman’s car.
A 43-year-old Raleigh Township man has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000 and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
