The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a shoplifting incident in Chatham.
Just before 6:00 p.m. yesterday, the man attended Walmart on St. Clair Street and was observed concealing a phone case in his pants pocket. The man left the store making no attempt to pay for the case valued at $84.00. An employee followed the man outside and called police.
Officers attended and the phone case was recovered. Michael King, 26 years, of McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released pending a future court date.
