Shortly after 7:00 p.m. last night, an officer was conducting radar enforcement on Kent Bridge Road when he observed a vehicle travelling northbound at a high rate of speed. The officer recorded the vehicle travelling 153km/h in an 80km/h zone.
A 52-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with stunt driving. His driver’s licence has been seized for seven (7) days and the vehicle has been towed and impounded for seven (7) days.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service reminds motorists that upon conviction, stunt driving carries a $2,000-$10,000 fine, 6 demerit points, up to 6 months jail, up to 2 years licence suspension for a first offence.
