The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a concern for public safety.
Yesterday afternoon, police received information that a man who was not authorized to have firearms was in possession of guns. Officers attended the man’s residence and through investigation two handguns, two shotguns, five rifles and a BB gun were located and seized. Officers also seized ammunition that like the firearms was not stored properly or safely.
The 59-year-old Chatham man has been charged with multiple firearm related offences. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
