The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving following a motor vehicle collision.
Yesterday, around 4:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Colborne Street between McDowell Line and Communication Road in Chatham. Through investigation, the officer believed that the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests. The other driver, a 50-year-old Chatham woman was not injured. Total damage was estimated at $8000.
Edward Arnold, 59 years, of Longwoods Road, Chatham has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He has been released pending a future court date.
