The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a report of a suspicious person early this morning in Chatham.
Just before 1:00 a.m. police responded to the area of Richmond Street and Merritt Avenue in regards to a suspicious man lurking around businesses.
Officers located the man at the rear of Chatham Chrysler and he was arrested for trespassing. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marihuana.
The 51-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of drug possession. He remains in police custody this morning.
