On March 16, 2014, an officer on general patrol observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham. The officer conducted a query of the licence plates and learned that there was no insurance status on the vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop to further investigate. Due to being a weekend, the officer had to wait until the next business day to contact the man’s insurance broker. The officer subsequently learned that the man did not have road coverage for his motor vehicle.
Yesterday, the 39-year-old Chatham man was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with No Insurance.
