Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On September 11, 2013, an officer on general patrol observed a man driving a dirt bike, with no helmet, on the sidewalk over the Lacroix Street bridge. The officer followed the man until he stopped at a residence on Inshes Avenue. Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was suspended from driving and that the dirt bike was stolen.

Ryan Caron, 24 years of McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham was charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000
– Driving while under suspension x2
– Failing to wear a proper helmet on a motorcycle
– Unlawfully driving an off-road vehicle on a highway
– Operating a motor vehicle over a sidewalk

He failed to attend Provincial Offences Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Yesterday morning, he was located on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was released pending a future court date.
