Just before 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a residence in Chatham in regards to a domestic related incident.
At this time, a 22-year-old woman reported an incident of domestic violence that occurred on Saturday while spending the day with her boyfriend. It is alleged that the woman was physical assaulted, threatened and her vehicle was damaged. The woman did not require medical attention.
A 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault x2, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, sexual assault, uttering threats and mischief under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
