At approximately 3pm, Barrie Police responded to a complaint of a male walking in an Allandale neighborhood with a what was believed to be a handgun attached to his belt.
Police quickly located the lone suspect male who readily complied with Police directions.
Police observed the suspect had a black pistol contained in a black holster attached to his waist belt.
The suspect was arrested for weapons dangerous to the public peace without incident.
The weapon was seized and examined by several experienced Officers and found to be a be a Crossman BB gun.
The matter is currently under investigation by Barrie Police.
The weapon was photographed and submitted for destruction.
Barrie Police remind residents that realistic or replica looking firearms will be treated/deemed to be a real firearm. As such Police residents should use common sense and logic when using/playing with these items.
