Around 7:30 p.m. last night, an intoxicated man walking on Colborne Street called 911 to request police assistance in getting home. Officers located the man near William Street. The man was taken into custody for his own safety as he was unable to care for himself.
The 60-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released when sober.
