Male steals two cars – arrested

On April 22, 2014 at 4:28 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to investigate a stolen car from the Willow Road area. The owner of the vehicle advised that a person known to him had taken his keys and his car. It is alleged that this male then drove the car onto the Hanlon Expressway where he lost control and went off the roadway near Paisley Road. A Good Samaritan stopped to assist but the male went past her and got into her vehicle and drove away.

At 5:22 p.m., Port Credit O.P.P. advised that they had the vehicle and the male under arrest in the area of 401 and Dixon Road.

A 39-year-old Guelph male has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Brampton for charges related to his arrest by O.P.P. He will also have to deal with Guelph charges, two counts of theft of motor vehicle and drive while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
