(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a 30 year old man after a vehicle was reported stolen shortly after 5:00 am on Wednesday, October 16th 2013.
Police were advised that the vehicle had been stolen from a driveway on Second St North in Kenora. The vehicle was running in the driveway when the suspect jumped in and drove away. Police observed the vehicle and tried to stop it. When the vehicle failed to stop for police, they initiated a suspect apprehension pursuit for brief time until the driver pulled over and ran from the vehicle in the Minto area of Kenora.
An OPP Canine Unit (K9) and members of the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended and commenced a search for the subject. He was located at 8:00 am by the K9 unit and ERT members.
Investigation is continuing.
