(Municipality of Trent Lakes, ON) – On Sunday August 31 at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP working at the Kinmount Fairgrounds were called to investigate a report of a Traffic Incident in the Parking Lot off County Road 503 near Reid Street in the Village of Kinmount.
Officers attended the parking lot and encountered a male operating a White Dodge Pickup truck in the parking lot at the fairgrounds. At this time the vehicle and male driver had been reported to have been involved in several collisions in the parking lot involving pedestrians and parked motor vehicles.
One pedestrian struck suffered a fractured leg and received medical treatment for the injury. Three parked motor vehicles receiving damage as a result of the suspect vehicle striking them at the time of the incident.
Officers approached the driver and his vehicle and directed him to exit his vehicle however he fled the area. Officers were able to eventually stop the vehicle and investigate the Incident.
As a result of the investigation 47 year old male driver David WOOD of Fenelon Falls was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
Impaired Operation causing Bodily Harm
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Fail to Stop at Scene of an Accident involving Bodily Harm
light form Peace Officer
Fail to Remain at Scene of an Accident
The male was released from custody with a court date scheduled for Thursday October 9, in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
