Male Arrested Less Than 30 Minutes After Being Released From Police Custody

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Friday November 28th, 2014, shortly after 4:00pm Quinte West OPP were dispatched to an apartment building on Herman Street in Trenton for the report of an assault. Assault allegations were made between a tenant at the building and a male hired to do repair work at the building; however, the allegations were unfounded. Police departed the scene but were called back a short time later for a second assault complaint. As a result of this investigation, Police arrested 52 year old Garry BROWN of Trenton.

BROWN was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. No injuries were sustained.

The accused was released from Police custody on a Promise to appear and Officer In Charge (OIC) Undertaking. Less than 30 minutes after his release, the accused was observed breaching his conditions as set out in the OIC Undertaking. The accused was arrested a second time at an address in Trenton and charged with Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking by Officer in Charge. He was held for bail court and will appear on Monday December 1st, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
