MALE ARRESTED IN FRAUD SCAMS

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) has arrested and charged a male resulting from a fraud investigation involving the use of social media dating websites. The accused is alleged to have met and developed relationships with woman through social media web sites. He would eventually meet with these victim’s and pose as a Veterinarian from the United States. He would then obtain money from the victim’s using different tactics during their short relationships.

As a result of the investigation the following male was arrested by police and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada

Jon MULDER, 28 years old, of no fixed address:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
Theft of Credit Card x 2
Use Stolen Credit Card x 2
Fail to Comply with Probation x 2
Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
Flight While Pursued by Peace Office x 2
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Theft Over $5000 of a Motor Vehicle
Public Mischief

The male was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

Drive While Under suspension
Fail to Stop for Police

The male was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.
