(LANSDOWNE, ON) – On the 7th of April 2016 a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leeds County arrested a male for operating a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee while impaired by drug.
At approximately 7:55 a.m. on the 7th of April an OPP officer was patrolling westbound on Hwy 401 in Front of Leeds and Lansdowne Township. The officer observed a collision occur in the eastbound lanes.
Through investigation at the scene the officer determined the driver to be impaired. The male, the lone occupant of the truck was then taken to Brockville General Hospital by Leeds Grenville Ambulance.
The male was released with no injuries. The male was taken for testing by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.
Joseph MACINTYRE, 57 years old, of York, Ontario has been charged with Impaired by Drug, Failing to Have Insurance, and providing False Insurance.
He will appear at Brockville Superior Court on the 13th of May 2016
