(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male driver at a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check on Saturday December 17, 2016.
The officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Lafontaine Road in Penetanguishene at approximately 1:45 p.m. when a motor vehicle approached in a suspicious manner that brought attention to the officers. Further investigation revealed the male driver is prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
Luke Albert HAMELIN (age 34) of Tiny Township, ON is charged with:
Adult Breach of Probation Order (Driving a Motor Vehicle) contrary to the Provincial Offences Act
Fail to Comply With Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Adult Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 26, 2017 in Midland, ON.
