(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On May 22, 2015 the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted by two individuals involved in the same incident that resulted in the initiation of an investigation into allegations of an assault.
Initially, an employee with the City of Kawartha Lakes Roads Department contacted the OPP to advise that he had been involved in a physical altercation while attempting to fill his water truck at a location on Hillside Drive. Shortly thereafter a female party contacted the OPP with a similar complaint.
As a result of the incident the OPP conducted a thorough and detailed investigation that utilized a number of investigative resources. Although we cannot speak to specific investigative techniques, the investigation is now concluded.
On June 9, 2015 Lorena (Lorie) ALLEN, 46 years of age, of the former Somerville Township, was arrested and charged with assault and public mischief.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on July 16, 2015.
