(ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS, ON) Almaguin Highlands Community Policing and the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police conducted a lock it or lose it event in the Village of Burk’s Falls on Thursday November 7, 2013. Vehicles in the parking lot at Value Mart and Tim Horton’s were checked to see if they were locked and whether there were any valuables located inside.
The results were: 42 vehicles were checked, 25 vehicles were locked with no valuables visible, 9 vehicles were locked but with valuables in sight such as a wallet, purse, loose change or GPS, 8 vehicles were not locked.
Police would like to remind motorists to always lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables in sight.
