We have received numerous reports of criminal activity in Wingham. These range from break and enters, assaults, vandalism, thefts & home invasions, sadly the majority of these incidents are not being reported to the police. The police can not solve crimes if they are not reported. Non reporting also keeps the public in the dark about threats to our community, and allows the criminal activity to continue.
Recently WFP interviewed victims of a break and enter, where numerous items were taken. The victims did not report this to the police, even though they were certain who the perpetrator was. These victims were afraid of reprisals from the suspected perpetrator and his family. The suspect family is well known to local police, and is mentioned several times in our archive.
If you are victim of a crime, it is imperative that you contact the police immediately. If these criminal families are allowed to continue unabated, their crimes will continue and escalate. Recently several properties in Wingham were stripped of copper wire and pipe, resulting in thousands of dollars in damage. These acts deter people from investing in Wingham, lowers property values and damages the entire community.
WFP will continue to protect the anonymity of anyone that contacts us with information. Several of our supporters have risked their personal safety gathering information about hard drug dealers, in and around Wingham. This has resulted in several hard drug dealers being forced out of the area due to the combined efforts of Info Gatherers, concerned Citizens and Landlords. WFP will continue to provide “spy gear†to supporters, including video camera watches, live video transmitters and other items in our arsenal, which we will not mention for obvious reasons.
Without unity, our community will continue to crumble. Hard drug dealers will continue to sell to kids and expectant mothers. We are aware of several pregnancies that did not make it to full term to due to substance abuse. These criminals are destroying the future of our youth, and are killing unborn children.
To save our community, we must be as united as the criminal element that threatens it. Please choose which side you are on, report crimes, join Block Parents and inform landlords about the newly formed landlord group, so they too can help protect our commUNITY.
