(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Community Drug Action Team executed a search warrant on Sunday at a Woodville residence.
The warrant led to the seizure of an undisclosed amount of marihuana, crack cocaine, two substances still to be identified, and cash. Also seized was a loaded shotgun and ammunition.
Arrested and charged with the following offences is Anthony ORMESHER, 23 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – under 3kg (marihuana) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Possession of Ammunition While Prohibited contrary to section 117.01(1) CCC
Possess a Firearm, Knowing that he was not the Holder of a Licence contrary to section 92(1) CCC
Careless Storage of a Firearm contrary to section 86(1) CCC
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) CCC
Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) CCC (2 counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will reappear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay today.
