(TRENT HILLS, ON) –On May 15, 2015 at 10:00pm Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a RIDE program on County Road 45 in the Municipality of Trent Hills. A green Dodge Ram pickup truck was stopped and the two occupants were questioned regarding the odour of marihuana. Both males were subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
During a search of the truck, a loaded sawed off shotgun was located behind the seat. The truck was seized and more thoroughly searched at the Cobourg detachment resulting in approximately 125X12 gauge shotgun shells being located in addition to other ammunition.
Tyler WOODCOCK age 24 and Harley BLODGETT age 22 both from Marmora are charged with the following offences:
1) Possession of a Schedule II substance: cannabis marihuana under 30g
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
3) Tampering with the serial number of a firearm
4) Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
– plus six other firearms related offences
Both males were held for a bail hearing scheduled for May 19, 2015.
