(HURON TWP, ON) – On March 30th, 2011 at 3:55 pm, members of the South Bruce OPP set up a R.I.D.E. checkpoint at the intersection of Lake Range Drive and Saratoga Road in Huron Township. At 4:15 pm, a Chevrolet pick up truck stopped at the R.I.D.E. and officers discovered open alcohol in the vehicle. 34 year old Craig SHARPIN of Listowel is charged with Drive motor vehicle with open liquor. 21 year old Jared HILTZ of Listowel is charged with Having liquor in open container other than residence, licensed premise or private place. Motorists are reminded that R.I.D.E. checks are conducted every shift; the South Bruce OPP has a zero tolerance for mixing alcohol and driving.
