Life Threatening Injuries In Hwy 3 Collision

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – On the 17th of September 2016 at approximately 10:00a.m. Elgin County OPP responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway Three near Temperance Line in Malahide Township.

A 1996 blue Chevrolet pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling westbound on Highway Three. At one point the truck lost control. A 2012 blue Ford Focus was eastbound at the time and collided with the trailer of the Chevrolet pickup truck.

Malahide Fire department and Elgin St. Thomas ambulance attended the scene. Paramedics tended to the injured male driver in the Ford Focus. The male driver was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. Two other passengers in the Ford Focus were taken to hospital as a precaution. No one was injured in the Chevrolet pickup truck.

The investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending. The male driver’s condition has since been updated as serious injuries.
