Leigh JARVIS – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Saturday, October 11, 2014 at approximately 6:50 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Kaministiquia Volunteer Fire Department and Superior North EMS responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11/7 near Frost’s Road.

Investigation revealed the driver of a 2001 Ford truck lost control of the vehicle, the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the passenger side in the east bound ditch.

Upon speaking with the male driver, the officer detected an odour of alcohol emitting from the driver’s breath and the driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment.

The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.

After further investigation, the driver’s blood alcohol level was determined to be over the legal limit.

Leigh JARVIS, 30 years of age, from Fort Frances was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in Provincial Court on December 9 2014 to answer to the charges
