Lee-Ann MCCHESNEY – Drugs, Speeding

(TOWNSHIP OF THE NORTH SHORE, ON) – On May 17, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties in the Township of the North Shore, east of Blind River.

At 10:52 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Highway 17 travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated. Police observed Cannabis Marihuana in the vehicle.

As a result, Lee-Ann MCCHESNEY, 36 years of age, from Calgary, Alberta was charged with:

Possession of Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana-Under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 7, 2016.

OWNER CHARGED WITH NO INSURANCE

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On May 17, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 west of Blind River.

At 13:24 p.m., police observed an eastbound vehicle on Highway 17. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the vehicle was found not to be insured. The vehicle was towed.

Constantin VOICA, 40 years of age, from Toronto, Ontario, was charged with: Owner Permit Operation of a Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(b) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 6, 2016
