(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 10, 2016 at 11:12 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) on Rose Point Road in Seguin Township. A vehicle was checked for the R.I.D.E. spot check, and the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Larry MONETTE, 59 years of age from McDougall Township was arrested and charged with:
Driving with more than 80mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 17, 2016 to answer to his charges. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.
The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
