(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – On June 27, 2016 search warrants on four addresses in the Town of Kirkland Lake were executed in relation to the illegal distribution of opiates and methadone. This was the result of a lengthy investigation stemming and conducted by members of the Kirkland Lake Crime Unit and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Matt Watson of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
As a result of the investigation, a quantity of methadone, opiates and prescription medications were seized. The following persons have been charged and held for Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake:
Tina HUSTON, age 37, of Kirkland Lake
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (x4), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Erica KEARSY, age 32, of Kirkland Lake
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (x7), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the CDSA
Natalie MARTELL, age 37, of Kirkland Lake
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (x2), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the CDSA
Jonathan Cory McLEAN, age 34, of Kirkland Lake
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (x2), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the CDSA
Penny CHAMPOUX, age 49, of Kirkland Lake
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Contrary to Section 5(1) of CDSA.
Whereas, Billy BATISSE, age 18, of Kirkland Lake is charged with:
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (x2), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the CDSA and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on September 8, 2016
